At the annual Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm officially pulled back the curtain on its newest mobile architecture, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Mobile Platform. Amid the sweeping announcements of processing leaps and unprecedented video recording capabilities, Motorola took center stage to provide a first look at its most advanced and powerful smartphone to date: the Motorola Signature 27. Designed to push the absolute boundaries of mobile imaging, the new flagship leverages Qualcomm’s latest silicon to deliver enhanced performance, fast and productive AI technologies, and cutting-edge photography and video capture features.
The announcement was highlighted by Motorola’s head of global marketing, Nicole Hagen, who described the upcoming device’s camera system as "industry-leading" during her presentation at the summit. While Motorola is keeping many of the phone’s full specifications under wraps for a later release ahead of its global rollout later this year, the company shared enough details about the hardware and software integration to signal a major push into the ultra-premium smartphone segment.

At the heart of the Motorola Signature 27’s photographic capabilities is Sony’s latest Lytia-series image sensor technology. The main camera is anchored by the 50-megapixel Lytia 910 LOFIC image sensor. This Type 1/1.28 sensor is engineered to provide an extended dynamic range and deliver high-end image quality characterized by rich, accurate colors, even in challenging lighting scenarios.
Complementing the primary shooter is a powerful telephoto system that also relies on Sony Lytia engineering. Motorola confirmed that the telephoto imager utilizes the massive 200-megapixel Type 1/1.28 Lytia 901 sensor, which was originally announced last year. While Motorola has yet to disclose the full specifications of the remaining rear cameras—though multiple lenses are clearly visible on the device’s distinctive housing—the pairing of these high-end Sony sensors forms the foundation of the phone’s imaging ambitions.
Beyond raw hardware, Motorola emphasized that the Signature 27’s imaging prowess is heavily augmented by proprietary software and advanced processing. The device includes Motorola’s newly developed Video Enhancement Engine, an AI-powered tool designed to create a real-time intelligence layer during video recording. This system can automatically and dynamically adjust color tones as the user captures footage in real time.

According to Motorola, this technology ensures that users can capture their favorite moments exactly as they remember them, whether they are attending a concert, filming in low-light environments after dark, or taking in a vibrant sunset. The resulting footage is engineered to look professional, maintain sharpness in dim conditions, and deliver natural, true-to-life colors.
This sophisticated computational photography and videography suite is enabled directly by the raw processing power of the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip. The same silicon drives the phone’s advanced stabilization systems, which seamlessly combine Qualcomm’s proprietary image stabilization software with robust optical image stabilization (OIS) hardware to ensure smooth, jitter-free video capture.
Describing the preview of the device, Motorola noted that the complete camera system of the Signature 27 demonstrates the brand’s continued commitment to advancing the frontier of smartphone photography. However, the company’s ambitions for the device extend well beyond imaging performance.

The Signature 27 is firmly targeted at the luxury and premium tier of the smartphone market, a positioning reinforced by carefully selected materials and a newly announced audio collaboration. Just a day prior to the summit, Motorola and Bang & Olufsen announced a multi-year partnership to co-create premium audio experiences. Consequently, the Signature 27 features an integrated Bang & Olufsen audio system, marrying high-end acoustics with flagship visual technology.
Aesthetics and physical craftsmanship play a central role in the device’s appeal. Motorola designed the phone to be admired, held, and deliberately chosen by discerning consumers. The hardware features a sleek aluminum chassis paired with a distinctive camera housing layout on the rear panel.
The phone will be offered in at least two striking finishes: a "coal smoke" variant featuring a tactical weave texture, and a "Capulet olive" option boasting a brushed, textile finish. The olive model, showcased prominently at the Snapdragon Summit, offers a unique tactile experience and a visually striking appearance.

Motorola plans to fully reveal the complete specifications, pricing, and availability details of the Motorola Signature 27 at a later date, ahead of its scheduled global release before the end of the year.
