MUMBAI — Raagverse, a pioneering new Indian music label that marries traditional human songwriting with advanced artificial intelligence production tools, is slated to release its debut album, "Janaa Hai Toh Jao," on October 20.
The launch marks a significant milestone in the intersection of entertainment and technology, positioning itself as a unique collaborative experiment in South Asian music production. The label operates on a premise where artificial intelligence serves as an auxiliary production instrument rather than a creative replacement, ensuring that the soul of every composition remains fundamentally human.
The label represents the latest commercial and creative venture from Amita Madhvani, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Equinox Virtual. She co-founded the division alongside Ram Madhvani. Equinox Virtual functions as the specialized technological and digital arm of prominent production houses Equinox Films and Ram Madhvani Films, dedicated entirely to developing innovative entertainment projects utilizing artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and other immersive technologies.
A Three-Track Debut Headlined by Title Release
The forthcoming debut album features a concise collection of three original tracks: the titular lead single "Janaa Hai Toh Jao," alongside "Koi Keh De Usse" and "Tere Liye."
All lyrics across the three compositions were penned by writer Mamta Javkar, whose conceptual frameworks and emotional direction establish the core identity of the music. "Janaa Hai Toh Jao" serves as the flagship release for the label. Upon its official launch, the album will be made available to global audiences across all major digital streaming platforms, including YouTube Music, Apple Music, and Spotify, aiming to capture both domestic Indian listeners and the broader international diaspora.
Keeping Humans Firmly in the Creative Driver’s Seat
At its core, Raagverse has been architected around a creative workflow that intentionally keeps human creators in absolute command. Every single song in the label’s catalog originates from Javkar’s original words, combined with the specific emotional blueprint, conceptual foundation, and thematic message she intends to convey.
Once the human elements are firmly established, artificial intelligence is introduced strictly as one of several technological tools utilized to shape, polish, and texture that raw material into a fully realized, professional-grade recording. Human artists and directors retain total decision-making authority over the lyrical content, overarching creative direction, and the specific emotional atmosphere each track is engineered to carry. This structural philosophy ensures that technology acts strictly as an amplifier of human intent rather than its author.
Amita Madhvani explained that her initial explorations into incorporating artificial intelligence within a broader, multi-layered creative process stemmed from previous experimentation at Equinox Virtual. Specifically, the production team tested these boundaries during the creation of "Mohini – Khud Se Pyaar," an innovative Indian musical microdrama produced by the company using emerging technological frameworks.
"What stayed with me from that experience was that technology could give us new ways to execute an idea, but the idea itself still needed to come from somewhere deeply human. With Raagverse, I wanted to take that thought into music," Madhvani said regarding the label’s inception.
"For me, that is where this gets exciting. It is not human creativity versus AI. It is about seeing what becomes possible when human imagination leads and technology helps us take it somewhere new."
Intellectual Property and Expanding Horizons
Raagverse has been formally registered as an intellectual property asset, cementing its status as a distinct brand within the broader Equinox ecosystem. Looking ahead, Equinox Virtual intends to utilize the label as a permanent home for a continuous stream of original music developed through the exact same methodology—leveraging software solutions to expand the production capabilities and sonic horizons of the team, while strictly preserving songwriting and lyrical conception within human hands.
The launch of Raagverse does not exist in a vacuum within the company’s broader corporate strategy. The music label joins an expanding portfolio of technology-forward projects at Equinox Virtual. Among these initiatives is a cutting-edge virtual reality experience built using artificial intelligence and heavily drawing thematic and narrative inspiration from the sacred Indian philosophical text, the Bhagavad Gita.
The overarching corporate mission of Equinox Virtual remains focused on leveraging modern technological advancements to pioneer fresh narrative formats, establish unique storytelling structures, and deliver original Indian cultural content to an increasingly interconnected global audience.
