Hollywood visual effects and motion-capture trailblazer Remington Scott, whose pioneering work brought Gollum to life in "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" and shaped the first Light Stage digital humans for "Spider-Man 2," has been tapped to head Eros Imagination. Based in London, the newly established creative technology and experiences business is a core initiative of Eros Innovation, an artificial intelligence company founded by the Lulla family that taps into the vast film, music, and intellectual property archives of Eros Media World.

In his new role, Scott will oversee creative production, the nurturing and development of specialist talent, and the formation of key international partnerships. The venture is designed to bridge the gap between traditional human artistry and cutting-edge visual effects, artificial intelligence, digital-human tools, real-time production workflows, and video game development. While supporting Eros’s internal ecosystem, Eros Imagination will aggressively pursue commercial partnerships and external deals with major film studios, streaming platforms, independent filmmakers, game developers, music artists, estates, and intellectual property rights holders.

Operating alongside Eros Brahmand, the group’s primary film and content studio, Eros Imagination will supply advanced technology and end-to-end production support for upcoming films, television series, multi-platform franchises, and live immersive shows. Planned service offerings span a wide spectrum of modern entertainment production, ranging from AI-assisted filmmaking and complex post-production to immersive live concerts, advanced virtual production, and fully playable game characters.

Among the division’s flagship inaugural projects is an ambitious tribute to the legendary Indian playback singer Mohammed Rafi. Eros has secured a signed agreement with Rafi’s family to develop an immersive music experience that merges an authorized digital performance with cinematic storytelling, high-end visual aesthetics, and interactive elements designed to engage audiences. Dependent on ongoing creative approvals and proper rights clearances, the initiative is intended to introduce Rafi’s timeless music to younger generations while simultaneously establishing robust digital-human and production workflows that Eros can reuse for other authorized artists and cultural properties.

To power these complex productions, Eros Imagination will leverage the proprietary Large Cultural Model (LCM) family developed by Eros Innovation. These multimodal AI models cover language, images, video, voice, and music, having been trained on a massive foundational dataset comprising approximately 1.5 trillion rights-cleared cultural tokens drawn directly from Eros’s controlled catalog. Eros Imagination will collaborate closely with the company’s India-based research and engineering teams to seamlessly integrate these AI models with performance capture systems and real-time rendering pipelines, ensuring that human artists maintain creative control throughout the process.

A specialized internal system named Nexus will assist producers and creators in selecting the most appropriate AI models and technical tools for each specific project, carefully evaluating parameters such as output quality, creative oversight, rights compliance, and cost efficiency. Furthermore, the London-based unit will build upon the collaborative foundation established by Eros Innovation’s Creator Studio work with United Kingdom government bodies and the broader British creative technology sector.

The overarching strategic vision for Eros is to create a dynamic pipeline where characters, artists, and properties originally conceived for traditional feature films or live shows can fluidly migrate into video games, interactive narrative experiences, social media content, and emerging commercial formats, provided the underlying rights permit such expansion. As part of this digital expansion, the unit will construct advanced digital identity systems. These systems will empower artists and their estates to securely store, authorize, and license digital replicas of their physical faces, voices, and historical performances. Company leadership has explicitly emphasized that legal consent, absolute authenticity, clear provenance, and rigorous intellectual property protection serve as foundational principles for the entire enterprise.

Ridhima Lulla, co-founder and co-president of Eros Innovation, elaborated on the structural synergy between the company’s various divisions, explaining that while Eros Brahmand remains the home for story development and core production, the new unit will provide the necessary technological framework.

"Eros Brahmand is where we develop and produce our stories, and Eros Imagination will help build the creative technologies and experiences that allow those stories, characters, and artists to move beyond the traditional boundaries of film, music, and entertainment," Lulla said. "We are not simply bringing together a production team and third-party AI tools; we are building on Eros’s own Large Cultural Models, multimodal intelligence, and extensive cultural IP. Remington brings an exceptional combination of filmmaking experience, technical expertise, and creative vision, and our Mohammed Rafi partnership provides a meaningful starting point."

Scott brings more than three decades of high-level experience spanning the film, video game, and immersive entertainment industries. His extensive filmography includes serving as the motion capture director on the groundbreaking animated feature "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within," alongside overseeing digital human creation for major Hollywood blockbusters such as "Superman Returns," "Beowulf," and "Watchmen." His work on "Spider-Man 2" contributed to the film’s Academy Award win for Best Visual Effects. In the interactive gaming sector, Scott has lent his expertise to blockbuster franchises including "Call of Duty," "Assassin’s Creed," "Spider-Man," and "Just Cause."

Beyond traditional cinema and gaming, Scott has made significant strides in the realm of immersive media. He worked on two Emmy-nominated immersive productions: the Notorious B.I.G. virtual concert titled "Sky’s the Limit" and a Fox Sports tribute dedicated to legendary coach Jimmy Johnson for Super Bowl LIX. His additional notable credits include an award-winning virtual concert featuring pop star Madison Beer and Netflix’s augmented reality experience for "Altered Carbon," which earned a prestigious Lumiere Award. His industry contributions were further recognized when TheWrap named him to its annual Innovators List in 2022.

Reflecting on his new appointment and the future trajectory of the medium, Scott expressed enthusiasm for the technological possibilities that lie ahead for modern creators.

"Artificial intelligence, digital humans, real-time production, and immersive technologies are giving filmmakers and creators tools that can fundamentally expand what is possible," Scott said. "What excites me about Eros Imagination is combining these capabilities with Eros’s filmmaking heritage, extensive intellectual property, and cultural intelligence. The Mohammed Rafi experience offers an opportunity to demonstrate how technology can celebrate a legendary artist while preserving the authenticity and emotional connection that made his work timeless."

Eros announced that further details regarding additional strategic partnerships and upcoming production projects for the Eros Imagination unit will be unveiled at a later date.
