The Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Sale, frequently referred to by shoppers as October Prime Day, has officially gone live. Marking the second major installment of Amazon’s largest discount events of the calendar year—following the initial Prime Day held back in June—this 48-hour shopping window delivers promotional price cuts that frequently rival or even exceed traditional Black Friday savings. Running strictly for two days from Tuesday, October 6, through midnight Pacific Time on Wednesday, October 7, the event leaves very little room for hesitation.
For consumers looking to get a substantial head start on their holiday gift shopping well before the month of November arrives, this mid-autumn event serves as a premier opportunity to secure some of the lowest prices of the entire year across a massive catalog of merchandise. Shoppers will find significant reductions on video games and gaming consoles, Apple AirPods, high-end electronics, collectible LEGO sets, 4K Blu-ray home video releases, men’s apparel and accessories, health and fitness products, and a wide variety of household tech. As millions of bargain hunters scour the platform, Amazon has indicated that its curated lists of promotional offers will continue to update throughout the duration of the multi-day event, giving returning visitors fresh options to explore.
Among the standout early promotions is the very first price cut for the newly introduced LEGO Icons Project Hail Mary building set. Following the major theatrical success of the film adaptation earlier in the year, the March release of the detailed space shuttle recreation generated immense interest among collectors. During the Prime Big Deal Days event, shoppers can secure the set at its first-ever discounted price, bringing the cost down to $69.99 from its original retail sticker price of $99.99.
While historical sales data shows that Prime Day is rarely the absolute best time of year to find massive, widespread video game markdowns—with Black Friday typically offering a broader selection at deeper price cuts—several notable titles have received attractive discounts. For PlayStation 5 owners, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has dropped to $16.99, marking one of the most aggressive software deals of the event. Meanwhile, Blood of Dawnwalker, which launched just a month prior, has already seen an immediate $10 price reduction.
Digital media promotions are also prominent during the two-day window. Both current Amazon Prime members and non-Prime subscribers can take advantage of a promotional bundle offering four months of the Audible Standard service for just $0.99 per month. In addition to the heavily discounted subscription fee, participants receive an extra $20 in bonus Audible credit. The offer is structured to accommodate both new and previously expired subscribers, though availability may vary by account. Following the conclusion of the four-month promotional period, memberships automatically renew at the standard rate of $8.99 per month unless canceled beforehand.
Apple products, which rarely see price reductions outside of major retail events, are heavily featured during the October sale. Given recent manufacturer-wide price adjustments across a majority of the tech giant’s hardware ecosystem, these promotional windows are considered increasingly valuable for consumers. The event has introduced notable markdowns on popular devices, ranging from active noise-canceling AirPods Pro earbuds to ultra-slim MacBook Pro laptops powered by Apple’s high-performance M5 microchip. Notably, the recently released 2026 MacBook Air featuring the M5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB solid-state drive has dropped by $200 from its post-increase baseline, bringing the base configuration down to $1,099 with standard free shipping included.
Home entertainment enthusiasts are also seeing major incentives, notably with the return of Amazon’s highly popular 3-for-$33 4K Blu-ray movie promotion. Dozens of eligible titles, spanning both classic cinema and recent theatrical releases, are included in the mix, with many packages bundling compatible digital copies through Movies Anywhere. For collectors of trading card games, where randomized booster packs represent a significant ongoing investment, Amazon has implemented price drops across several themed Magic: The Gathering sets, including releases tied to major entertainment franchises such as The Lord of the Rings, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Star Trek.
Television upgrades form a major pillar of the hardware discounts, headlined by substantial price cuts on massive display panels. Hisense’s newly released 2026 U7SG 4K TV lineup is seeing comprehensive discounts across screen sizes ranging from 55 inches up to a massive 100 inches. The displays incorporate advanced technology such as a bright Hi-QLED Mini-LED panel, a 165Hz refresh rate with variable refresh rate support, and compatibility with Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+. Similarly, Roku’s recently launched 65-inch Pro-Series 4K OLED Smart TV has been discounted to $799.99. Equipped with a true W-OLED panel, native 120Hz refresh rates, and HDMI 2.1 connectivity, the set serves as a capable display for current-generation gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5. For shoppers pursuing ultra-large home theater setups, the massive 98-inch TCL QM8L 4K SQD Mini-LED Google TV has plummeted to $2,998.99—representing a 50 percent savings off its standard $6,000 retail price—with qualifying Amazon Prime cardmembers eligible for an additional 10 percent cashback incentive.
Nintendo enthusiasts have been given a time-sensitive opportunity to acquire the LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi building set at a steep 30 percent discount, bringing the price down to $89.99. Market analysts note that the set may be nearing the end of its official production run, as it is currently listed as sold out on the official LEGO online store with no confirmed restock timeline. Similarly, the LEGO Art Hokusai The Great Wave set, which uses 1,810 bricks to recreate the famous Japanese woodblock print with a multi-layered dimensional effect, has dropped to a new low of $69.99.
Audio hardware has also seen deep price reductions across multiple tiers. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless gaming headset, widely recognized by industry critics as a benchmark for multi-platform gaming audio across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, has been discounted through Amazon-owned Woot to $237.48. For budget-conscious consumers seeking traditional consumer headphones, the JLab JBuds Lux over-ear wireless headphones have received a 53 percent instant discount, dropping the price to $39.80 while retaining advanced features typically reserved for luxury models. Meanwhile, the Beats Studio Pro wireless noise-canceling headphones hit a historic low during the event, marked down by 60 percent to $119 in both black and white colorways.
In the gaming peripheral space, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C wireless PC controller has seen its price trimmed by an additional 20 percent down to $23.99, offering an affordable alternative to premium controllers that often exceed $60. Virtual reality hardware has also received attention, with the Meta Quest 3S 128GB VR headset discounted by $50 to $297. The promotional bundle includes in-game currency and downloadable content for the popular multiplayer VR title Gorilla Tag, providing an accessible entry point for consumers curious about immersive gaming platforms.
Book collectors and literature fans have not been left out of the promotional window, with the definitive Complete Calvin and Hobbes hardcover box set available for $99.01, alongside the alternative paperback edition priced at $86.86. Fitness enthusiasts and casual shoppers alike can also browse supplementary wellness items, including discounted multi-packs of C4 zero-sugar energy drinks and Cellucor dietary supplements.
As the 48-hour event continues to unfold toward its midnight deadline on Wednesday, inventory levels across high-demand electronics and collectible items are expected to fluctuate rapidly, prompting many shoppers to finalize purchases before supplies are exhausted.
