British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden are officially extending their landmark celebrations. The trailblazing ensemble has announced that they will return to North America for a third and final leg of their massive 50th-anniversary “Run for Your Lives” tour. The newly added run of dates is designed to bring the historic milestone production to regions and communities that missed out during previous legs, ensuring that long-standing devotees across the continent have a final opportunity to experience the milestone anniversary celebration live.
The announcement comes during an extraordinary period for the band, who have recently been named 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, cementing their legacy as one of the most enduring and influential groups in the history of heavy music. Rather than wrapping up their touring cycle as originally scheduled, the heavy metal icons have chosen to keep the momentum going just a little bit longer.
Bassist, founder, and principal songwriter Steve Harris shed light on the unexpected extension, explaining how the decision came to be after spending quality time on the road in the United States and Canada. As many devoted fans of the group are well aware, Iron Maiden had previously communicated plans to take a much-deserved break from live performances in 2027. However, the energy and reception from North American audiences completely altered those plans.
"As many of our fans know, Maiden were planning on taking a break from live performances in 2027, but we’ve been enjoying this last leg in the USA and Canada so much that we all had a chat and decided we should take the show to parts we missed, particularly the North West and South East," Steve Harris shared. "It just seems fair to our many fans there who have given us tremendous support for so many years. We can’t get everywhere, but we can try!"
The decision to hit the road once more highlights the deep bond between Iron Maiden and their global fan base, often referred to affectionately as the Maiden family. For decades, the band has maintained a reputation for relentless touring schedules and an unwavering commitment to bringing their elaborate stage shows directly to the people, regardless of geography. This final leg ensures that regions that felt left out of the initial routing will finally get their chance to witness the 50th-anniversary spectacle.

To wrap up this final North American stretch, Iron Maiden will transition from traditional arena and amphitheater headlining shows to major festival stages. The band has always maintained a strong affinity for the festival circuit, viewing it as a unique opportunity to test their mettle against diverse crowds that may not consist solely of dedicated ticket-buyers.
"Also, we have always enjoyed playing the many great festivals that are in Europe and wanted to experience a couple more in the USA which we will do at the end of the tour in Columbus and Maryland," Harris added, looking ahead to the grand finale of the itinerary. "At festivals, you are not just playing to your own fans, so it’s always a challenge, and we all love a challenge!"
The tour extension will kick off in mid-April 2027, taking the band through a carefully curated selection of markets in both the United States and Canada before culminating in mid-May with the two high-profile festival headlining appearances.
