Developer GPTRACK50 Announces Action-Packed Dungeon Crawler ‘Stupid Never Dies’ Ahead of October Release

Developer GPTRACK50 Inc. is preparing to launch its upcoming single-player action game, Stupid Never Dies, which is built entirely around a singular, high-octane philosophy: attack, attack, and attack some more. Following hands-on time with the newly released game demo, it becomes immediately apparent that every mechanical system within the title is carefully engineered to reward aggressive play, instilling a relentless sense of momentum, urgency, and continuous progress from the moment players step foot into the game’s chaotic world.

Players step into the rotting shoes of Davy, self-proclaimed as the world’s weakest zombie. Davy must fight and vomit his way through treacherous, multi-layered monster-filled dungeons with a grand objective: take down KOM, the formidable King of Monsters, and ultimately rescue a frozen girl with whom he fell in love at first sight. Setting the tone right from the very beginning, Davy enters this harrowing dungeon environment by being unceremoniously flushed down a toilet. This bizarre introduction establishes the game’s quirky, chaotic aesthetic, which is wonderfully complemented by a vibrant pop-punk visual style that gives Stupid Never Dies a distinct and memorable personality all its own.

Observing Davy navigate the early stages of the game might prompt a logical question from players: how does the world’s weakest zombie manage to successfully defeat hordes of terrifying monsters? The answer lies in the deep and interlocking combat systems that form the beating heart of Stupid Never Dies. Davy begins his journey equipped with a foundational "Zombie Style" combat kit. This baseline moveset includes standard and heavy physical attacks, a defensive parry mechanic, and a uniquely disgusting vomit ability capable of striking multiple enemies standing in a line directly in front of him.

Among these baseline tools, the parry ability—officially dubbed the "Stupid Parry"—serves as a critical linchpoon for survival and must be utilized regularly during combat encounters. Executing a successful parry opens a window for Davy to unleash a devastating counterattack. While timing a parry does result in Davy taking a minor amount of damage initially, that lost health is not permanently gone; it becomes recoverable health that can be instantly restored by biting an enemy. Successfully landing any basic or heavy attack gradually fills the specialized Bite gauge located at the bottom of the screen. Once this meter reaches capacity, Davy gains the ability to clamp his jaws down on any nearby enemy.

The Bite mechanic acts as a crucial safety net and a core driver of the game’s aggressive loop. Bites deliver heavy damage while instantly replenishing all of Davy’s current recoverable damage pool, along with a bonus chunk of extra healing health. Because recoverable damage naturally decays and transforms into permanent health loss over time, players are forced to act decisively, using Bites quickly to keep their health bars safely topped up. This design ensures there is no safe downtime between skirmishes to leisurely recover health; instead, players must heal directly in the heat of combat by maintaining constant offensive pressure.

Beyond mere health recovery, Bites serve a vital utility function by allowing Davy to consume enemy cores. Doing so grants him access to brand-new abilities or entirely different combat styles harvested directly from his foes. Every single enemy type within the game possesses a unique core, and consuming different types yields distinct tactical outcomes. Defeating and consuming a standard enemy rewards the player with an "Instant Skill," which functions as a powerful, one-time-use combat ability. Meanwhile, consuming the core of an elite enemy grants Davy access to their specific Style, allowing him to physically transform into that creature and leverage its unique movement and attack capabilities.

The full release of Stupid Never Dies will feature 11 distinct enemy types whose combat styles players can steal and master, with each style offering vastly different gameplay experiences. For example, transforming into a Werewolf dramatically increases Davy’s movement and attack speed. In this form, his parries trigger a furious flurry of counterstrikes, and he gains the ability to perform wall jumps, opening up otherwise unreachable areas of the map to discover hidden shortcuts and valuable treasure chests. Alternatively, adopting the Harpy style grants players the power to double jump, glide gracefully through the air, fire long-range projectiles, and execute a significantly extended dodge maneuver.

These transformations are far more than superficial cosmetic changes or simple statistical buffs; each Style fundamentally alters how Davy moves, navigates, and fights throughout the dungeon. Players can freely swap out their currently equipped Style whenever a new one is acquired, and transformation can happen at any moment, even mid-combat. Consequently, strategic players will find success by constantly experimenting with different Styles to determine which options work best against specific enemy types or within challenging environmental layouts, dynamically shifting tactics to exploit enemy weaknesses.

The structure of each dungeon dive introduces a compelling risk-reward dynamic regarding character progression. Every time players embark on a new run, Davy is reset back to Level 1, retaining access only to his basic Zombie form. However, each completed run contributes to an overarching progression system that dramatically accelerates how quickly Davy gains experience levels in subsequent attempts. Developer GPTRACK50 Inc. refers to this mechanic as "blazing fast growth," with the magnitude of the experience boost scaling directly based on how far the player progressed and how many enemies they successfully defeated during their previous outing.

True to its promise, the impact of this accelerated leveling speed is both significant and immediately noticeable. After spending just a handful of runs with the demo build, experience boosts quickly exceeded 400%, resulting in Davy gaining multiple levels after nearly every single combat encounter. While early encounters with the formidable boss Afreet proved overwhelming at lower levels, subsequent runs featuring accumulated experience boosts allowed players to rapidly scale in power, turning difficult encounters into manageable battles and finishing major boss fights at significantly higher character levels.

This rapid leveling system directly supports the relentless momentum championed by the game’s aggressive combat design, ensuring that players are always pushing forward, even in the immediate aftermath of a failed run. Because runs build cumulatively upon the progress of those that came before, no attempt feels wasted or insignificant.

Speed is of the essence, as every excursion into the dungeon is governed by a strict countdown timer. If the timer expires before the player reaches safety, Davy perishes, gets sent back to the base camp, and loses all the valuable items gathered during that specific run. To mitigate this risk, designated "Landing Areas" are strategically placed throughout the dungeon’s layout. Reaching one of these zones allows players to safely extract from the dungeon, preserving their hard-earned loot. This creates a tense, ongoing evaluation of risk versus reward: should a player push deeper into uncharted dungeon territory for greater rewards, or secure their current inventory and escape while they still can?

Successfully extracting from the dungeon with gathered materials allows players to invest in "OT Gear" for body hacks—an extensive customization system where Davy’s organic body parts can be surgically replaced with advanced technology, granting him entirely new active abilities. Demo players witnessed a variety of these body hacks in action, including deployable protective barriers, spinning lunging attacks that close distance rapidly, and rotating energy saws that sweep in a lethal circle around Davy’s body.

Furthermore, players can utilize gathered crafting ingredients to forge new "Zombie Skills," which consist of passive stat boosts and tactical boons that can be activated dynamically during a run. Upon reaching specific level thresholds, players are presented with a choice to activate one of three randomly selected Zombie Skills from their unlocked pool. Defeating major bosses for the first time also yields special materials that can be turned in to unlock unique, powerful upgrades. For instance, defeating the boss Afreet grants access to a specialized Zombie Skill that imparts enhanced knockback on physical attacks, dealing bonus damage whenever enemies are violently slammed into surrounding dungeon walls.

With a vast array of distinct combat styles, mechanical body hacks, and customizable Zombie Skills, Stupid Never Dies offers a deep suite of personalization options designed to accommodate diverse player preferences. All of these interconnected systems are poised for even further expansion when the full game launches.

Players eager to experience the chaotic action firsthand can download an updated free demo, which is available now across Steam for PC and the PlayStation 5. The full, unbridled release of Stupid NeverDies is scheduled to launch on October 21 for those exact same platforms.
