When a legendary hip-hop producer who has shaped the sound of heavyweights like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Drake decides to pivot into interior design, the results are bound to make waves. Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean certainly brings an enviable pedigree to the table. With an impressive resume that includes gracing the cover of Architectural Digest and owning the iconic, ultra-modern Razor House designed by Wallace E. Cunningham overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Dean understands world-class living spaces from the inside out. Drawing on this deep appreciation for architecture and modern aesthetics, Dean has officially unveiled his debut furniture and home decor line, titled Casa Dean by Swizz Beatz, which launched today in collaboration with contemporary home retailer CB2.
Rather than treating interior design as a completely foreign endeavor, Dean found that crafting physical living spaces exercises the exact same creative muscles as producing chart-topping records. The extensive new line explores family-friendly home design through a distinctively artistic lens, offering everything from art-inspired upholstery and striking lighting fixtures to expressive wall decor, luxurious rugs, and sculptural glassware. Every piece within the collection has been thoughtfully designed to encourage quality time and connection among loved ones in a stylish, welcoming environment.

"My goal for the collection was to bring families together, which is why I named it after my family," Dean explains regarding the inspiration behind the line. "I wanted to design what I thought was the creative home for all creatives—no matter what medium you choose."
Developed in close collaboration with Evan Jerry, the founder of Studio ANANSI and a prominent member of CB2’s esteemed Designer Collective, the massive collection is heavily saturated in rich earth tones, fluid curved edges, and lavish, tactile textures. The lineup features contemporary, channel-tufted sectionals wrapped in olive green velvet, plush egg-shaped swivel chairs upholstered in fluffy taupe shearling, and playful, eye-catching drinkware crafted from smokey glass.
According to design experts at the brand, the entire collection strikes a careful balance between contrasting elements. Andrea Erman, CB2’s senior director of design and product development, notes that the collaboration successfully bridges distinct stylistic realms. "There’s a beautiful tension between bold, sculptural silhouettes and softer, more tactile materials," Erman says. "The rich browns, warm ivories, bronze accents, and unexpected touches of color give everything a sense of warmth and sophistication."

Among the standout items highlighted by both the producer and the design team are the unique bubble-stemmed glasses, which push the boundaries of functional tableware. "I imagined these pieces as sculptures, so whether you’re using or viewing them, they always feel like art," Dean notes of the drinkware. Another prominent piece is the Brainstorm Leather Accent Chair, which is meticulously upholstered in Dean’s absolute favorite shade: British Racing Green.
Deep green leather is a recurring motif throughout Casa Dean, appearing not only on the Brainstorm Chair but also serving as a sophisticated accent on the mappa burl wood Lam-Louie DJ Console—a nod to Dean’s legendary musical roots and his passion for DJing. The color choice, Dean shares, is deeply personal. "I love that color on any car, furniture—I’d even paint the outside of a home with it," he says. "I feel it represents timelessness, elegance, and class."
Dean’s well-documented penchant for high-end art collecting—highlighted most recently by an exhibition of his private holdings at the Brooklyn Museum in 2024—is also directly represented within the collaboration. The lifestyle line features a curated selection of commissioned paintings created specifically for the collection by artist Megan Gabrielle, ensuring that fine art and home furnishings exist in seamless harmony.

Despite featuring more than 100 individual furniture and decor items, the collection maintains a remarkable sense of cohesion and visual harmony from room to room. For instance, an oxblood enamel hexagonal coffee table effortlessly pairs with either dark taupe or warm white New Zealand wool area rugs. This fluid interplay between different materials, colors, and textures stands as a testament to Dean’s intuitive creative direction during the design process.
Reflecting on the parallels between his primary career in music and his new venture in home furnishings, Dean emphasizes that the creative spirit transcends any single medium. "Music is art, designing is art, so I used the same side of my brain I would use to make music, the medium was just different," he shares. "One is a sonic installation and the other is a visual and physical installation, they coexist like brother and sister."
The Casa Dean by Swizz Beatz collection is officially available for purchase online and in stores at CB2 starting today.
